Idiot [Aug. 23rd, 2005|12:03 am]
[mood | dirty]
[music |the gritting of my teeth]

I was asked to watch my neighbors cats while she's away in London and I accepted the duty. I'm an idiot. I have to feed the dumb things twice a day and give them both medication because they're old and haggard. One of them has diarrhea, and now I think the other one has it too. Sucks cleaning that up since they go on the floor instead of in the litter box. Assholes. What's the equivalent to bitch for a cat? B/c if there is one, thats them. I must cleanse myself in bleach (in the getting clean way, not the michael jackson way)

Interviewed for internship at film production company. Went pretty well. Saw two movies, Four Brothers and Skeleton key...both subpar i guess but tis ok. Hung out w/ ol' friends (welcome back speedy and flip)and had goood time even tho we didn't really do anything special or new. As you can probably tell by my previous writing I am in no condition to be creating this entry so I will stop immmmmeeeddiiiaaatttteelllyyy. Goodnight.

whoa [Aug. 6th, 2005|01:58 am]
[mood |surprisingly pleasant]
[music |bacardi and cola commercial song]

So summer's whizzing by, there's only about 3 weeks left til school. Of course as soon as I get geared up for school, summer starts getting better.
I saw Alicia Keys Unplugged (w/ special guests mos def, common, adam levine of Maroon 5, and Ziggy Marley).
I was an exta in a indie movie. If it ever makes it to theaters you'll see me clapping ridiculously in the second row at an acapella concert. I had to think of jokes from Wedding Crashers to keep me smiling b/c I couldn't fake them after a while. I have a new found respect for real actors, b/c that was tough enough. The movie starred a bunch of actors you may have seen but don't know by name. Mark Feurstein?-had a show on NBC for a while called Good Morning Miami, got cancelled. The curly haired funny guy from Spin city. A guy who was nominated for 2005 Tony for his role in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf. And the guy who played Tom Cruise's kids' stepfather in War of the Worlds. The director is the director of Mad TV. The story's about a group of guys who sang acapella at their ivy league school in '91 and reunite 15 years later for one of their weddings. We'll see if it gets Sundance like they hope. Doubtful.
I won tickets to the 50cent Eminem concert at the Garden. A big wig at my office had two luxury box seats but can't go so he raffled them off and I won.

In a nutshell it's been a good ride afterall this summer. Hopefully it's not over yet. I end work this week so I'm going to enjoy my 2 wks of freedom. Going away w/ the fam for one, and sleeping for the other I guess. we'll see. goodbye. not forever. just for now. i'll be back at some point. I'm not sure how soon, but eventually. Bye.

Hmm... [Jul. 30th, 2005|02:52 am]
[mood | blah]
[music |coldplay]

Although the summer is going well, and if I think hard enough I can pinpoint specific moments that were especially fun, I can't help but feel like the summer is dragging on. I'm ready to go back to school, mostly just to have something to do. But once I start getting stuff to do i.e. work, I'll wish I was not in school. So basically I want something to do, but not school. But that's what I'm doing now. I work and dont get homework or anything, so why am I still a bit discontent? I have no idea. Maybe I'm not supposed to, but that's bs. Just once I'd like to receive justification for my over-analyzation of everything by coming up with some undoubtable truth. An answer to all of the open ended questions would come in handy, just to make things a little more concrete, just for a day even.
But whatever, summer's almost over so I should just enjoy it. If only I could figure out exactly what I can do to enjoy the rest of my time. I go to the movies alot, but even that can run its course after 4 weeks of double features. I should go out and finish the photography project I've been working on, but I've been tired lately even when i get a lot of sleep. My mom thinks I'm sick. I just think I'm lazy. WE shall see. So lazy in fact that I no longer have any interest in writing this entry.

Hmm.. [Jun. 4th, 2005|01:01 am]
[mood | reflective]
[music |Mojo-Lady]

I have not written in a while, therefore, an update is in order. Since my last entry I:

-Got accepted to Tisch School of the Arts for Film and Television
-Got a new cable box!
-Read a book and started another (earliest this has ever happened in summer vacation...ever)
-Partied at the Waldorf in some kids room whom I did not know
-Went to "Wiggles"(Queen's Blvd's finest in adult entertainment)
-Visited my H.S. to find it in shambles (not really, but there's a lot of Soap Opera-ish drama that went down after I left w/ administration/teachers/students)
-Had drinks w/ an ex-teacher
-Lost/Won/Lost over $150 playing Poker
-Married Salma Hayek off the coast of Fiji

Ok, so that last thing isn't exactly true, it's more of a speculation, and could be replaced with the more concrete "lots of downtime spent doing nothing and staring at my computer/tv" So now I'm up to date.

I start work on Monday at Penguin Group, the publishing house. I don't know if I read any books published by them, but I hope so b/c maybe I can get some for free. I'm going to miss loafing around everyday doing absolutely nothing and thinking about all of the stuff I could/should be doing.

Summer's ok so far. I'm able to enjoy alone time, and just relax unlike during the school year. It'd be nice for something extra-ordinary to happen soon though so b/c it's be pretty regular.

Scientology [May. 16th, 2005|04:03 am]
[mood | amused]
[music |Late night music videos...it's bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S]

I was in Times Square w/ my friend Mike and a guy and a girl dressed in all black stop us and ask us if we want to watch a free movie on the "mind." The guy talked like Ali G except he was serious which made him even funnier I told them i was from upstate and worked at a newspaper in the city. They escorted us down the block to The Church of Scientology, which is expensive looking and modern and very cult-ish. At this pt we convince them our friend, Beck (the musician) is a scientologist. They put us in a back room with a huge screen and played this 20 min video on how our minds work, storing bad memories in a special evil place in the brain that later makes us act irrationally in stressful situations and yell at children or cry etc.

One example from the movie:

A guy crashes his car into a tree. While semi-conscious in the ambulance, the EMT workers talk about their lives. One says he recently broke up w/ his girlfriend because he is young and not sure he's ready for a long term commitment. Years later, the car crasher is on a date w/ his girlfriend and Suddenly the car stops short as the guy almost crashes again. This triggers his old experience and he gets stressed out and breaks up with his girlfriend in the car (she's pissed) because he's too young and not sure if he's ready for a long term commitment. then he gets manically depressed.

It was crazy and we were the only two ppl locked up in this room. They kept saying how L. Ron Hubbard (founder of scientology) was the smartest man ever and we should read his book "Dianetics" so we can take control of our lives and not flip out all the time. We had to fill out a survey afterwards which we did w/ fake names and addresses. Scientology "recruiters" i guess, tried to seperate us into different rooms to talk to use about maybe joining but we refused. this lady tried to get me to buy the book, but i said i was skeptical. she said over 25 million people world wide have bought the book, how could it not be telling the truth? and she kept making us read John Travolta's quote about how Scientology changed his life...so i said well the bible's the highest selling book of all time and not all of that stuff is true. and she said "I'm not comparing Dianetics to the Bible, the bible is an artifact held onto by the christians. Just read this book, you dont have to believe everything, we cant force you to believe it." So I said "but then I'll read it, not like it, and be out of 8 bucks", to which she replied "thats only a sandwich you can deal with it." then she got upset and said "maybe its not for everybody" and she walked away. she was craazy. cute, but crazy. me and mike moved briskly towards the door afraid we might be hexed or shot or something.

All in all it was an AWESOME experience, I might go back again, and bring some friends (if anyone's interested let me know, we'll plan a trip, just don't drink the kool-aid [it's poison])

First Day O' Summer [May. 11th, 2005|10:14 pm]
[mood | content]
[music |blue group cd]

Friends left yesterday. I moved home yesterday so today was my first day
post-NYU. Here's a list of my daily activities:

Wake Up
Ellen
Sportscenter
The View
World Series of Poker
Yankees vs. Mariners (Yankees win 13-9)
Shower
Eat
Library
Time Warner Cable Store (It made me long for the DMV. I waited for over an hour to pick up a cable modem, which my mother got rid of while I was gone. I got number 385 and I came in on number 350. Cool thing tho was that there were computers set up so you could go online while you waited. There were also HD TVs set up all around showing random shows-baseball, sportscenter, oprah, CNN, The Insider x2, Law & Order-yet the sound being played was for some history channel show that wasnt on any of the screens. At least I have my modem now.

All in all a great first day of summer. I was happy in my slothfulness, but that will soon turn into boredom I am sure. But until then...

Away they go! [May. 10th, 2005|12:42 am]
[mood | sad]

I have just joined live journal as a means of keeping in touch with my buddy Jaclyn. She leaves tomorrow, well today, back to AZ and I'm in NYC. Yael and Laura are leaving too!...Andrew's already gone. It's weird since I live in nyc b/c I dont go through all of the stressful traveling and what not so it doesnt hit me that the summer is here. I kind of go about my regular schedule, but each day I wake up, a new friend is gone. Poof. No longer around. But I'm still here. Maybe it was a dream. Nope they just left me :'(!!!! 4 months is a long time, but it could be worse I suppose.
I must go now, to bid fairwell to my Blue Group Friends. It's been a fun ride.
